Driving Directions:
From the town of Cottage Grove, take Hwy
N south. Take a left on Rinden Rd (east) and follow this road
for about four miles. Then take a right on Church St (south).
The woods will be on the left and right side of the road about
a half mile from the turnoff on Rinden Rd, the woods are located on
Church Rd.
Physical Description:
The forested area that is located on
this quiet road is moderately sized and is densely packed with
various trees. Church St is a two lane highway a few
miles outside the town of Cottage Grove. There is one church
(Western Koshkonong Lutheran Church) with a cemetery and a school
house that is located immediately on this road, and there is another
church with a cemetery (West Koshkonong Lutheran Church) at the end
of this road when it connects with Koshkonong Rd.
Trespassing Notice:
There are no signs in the
forest that say no trespassing, but the land is presumably private property. The woods
on this road are bordered by farmer's fields where the farmer(s)
could possibly own this land. Do not venture into this area
without prior consent.

*You can hear a man calling for his dog at night.
You can see this dog running from his owner. Rumor has it
if you chase this dog, it will disappear and and reappear behind
you; then it will tackle you down by the neck. No one has
been brave enough to follow this dog.-SL
