Fordem Ave (north). Fordem Ave turns into N Sherman Ave.
On N Sherman Ave, take a left on Northport Dr/Hwy 113 (west).
Sanitarium Hill/Northport Office of the Dane County Department of
Human Services will be on the right, located at 1202 Northport
Dr.
Physical Description:
This is a massive five story building
composed of brick that overlooks a gently sloping hill which extends
to Northport Dr. The Northport Office of the Dane County
Department of Human Services building used to be Lake View
Tuberculosis Sanatorium which served to cure tuberculosis
(consumption) beginning in 1930 and ending in 1960. From 1966
to present, this building is currently used for
licensing, clinical, and welfare services.

This is a popular sledding hill in
Madison, so there is a metal link fence that is at the bottom of the
hill to stop any people who are sledding from going into the road.
