From Manitowoc, take I-43 north.
On I-43, take exit 164 (Maribel/Mishicot). Take a right from
this exit, going east on Hwy 147, then take an immediate left on Hwy
R. Maribel Caves Hotel will be located on the right after the
forested area
located on Hwy R.
Physical Description:
This three story brick building once
housed a hotel close to the city of Maribel. Today, the hotel
is in major disrepair, and most of the floors throughout the
building are inaccessible and highly dangerous to cross (it is also
trespassing). The hotel is located next to a cave system and a
large wooded area which shares the same name as the city, Maribel.
The caves are part of the Manitowoc County Park System.
Trespassing Notice:
Do not cross the wood fence that
surrounds the hotel, any person inside the fenced in area is
considered trespassing. The hotel can be viewed from the road
on which there is an extra wide ditch for on-looking vehicles, or
the hotel can be viewed from the back by going through the Maribel
Caves Park.
Other Notes: Owners of this property
have started to burn the inside of this location (mostly the wood
floors and walls-2005).

*This is an abandoned building that
was owned by Al Capone that is close to the Maribel
Caves.-SL

*From the road, you can see every detail of the hotel.
This hotel is surrounded by woods, and the area across
the street is also wooded. This is a three story
hotel that is all but abandoned, and you cannot get to
the third floor anymore because of holes in the
stairway.-SL
*The name Hotel Hell came from the blood on the walls.-SL
*The submitter of much of this information has done some
research and says the hotel may have never been owned by
Al Capone.-SL
*The first building on this location was a resort that
was built in the 1800s which was a place where people
went to be cleansed by natural spring water that still
runs pure and clear to this day.-SL
*When you walk on the public trails, there is one cave
door which has been partially opened from a rockslide
where spring water still runs.-SL |

*The hotel glows when a new
moon is out.-SL
*People have been on the third floor report cold hands applying
pressure to their back.-SL
*If you flash your light at a second floor window, a light will
flash back at you.-SL
*In the basement, you get feelings of being threatened.-SL
*There has been yelling, the ring of bells, and the sound of
wheels in the basement.-SL
*There is a smell of sewer gas in the bathroom.-SL
*Old books in the rooms upstairs have burst into flames.-SL
*You can hear moaning of creatures or monsters from the caves
that are below the hotel.-SL
*Witnesses have heard laughing and seen a little girl in a black
dress wearing no shoes on the stairs to the cave area.-SL
*Near the caves and the stable, you can hear singing day or
night. You can also hear the sounds of horse hooves.-SL
*Visitors of this area have been chased by a white light which
some say it has been a carriage drawn by white horses.-SL
